In Love With Perfume

Although this sounds like an easy task, the person needs to understand why they love perfume. Although this sounds like a fairly simple answer, in essence it's more complex than that. The topic of perfume is basically a complex topic that perfume designers have spent years studying. Not only is perfume a commercial beauty product, there are the chemistry components that need to be considered, which includes fashion and social trends. For me, I love perfume as it reminds me of beautiful things and that makes me happy. I also enjoy discovering the complexities of the fragrance creation, the intricacies of aroma-material synergy, and the end result of a harmonious scent.

But loving perfume goes beyond just finding the perfect scent. Think about the last best-selling novel you read. There was a story behind that novel and the same is true for perfume. Great fragrances tell a story that tends to enchant the wearer. When I smell a new fragrance I let my imagination go and see if any memories evolve from it. Woodsy scents remind me of as a child walking through the national parks. Floral scents remind me of my love of roses and carnations, while fruity scents take me back to the neighbors lemon and orange trees.

These memories lead to interesting stories that we share with others that love perfume. Although these may be shared over the internet it's very rewarding to hear how a particular fragrance conjures up different stories and fantasies for others. This can also lead to becoming more accustomed to all the smells in our surroundings and appreciating the simple pleasures. Think about the last magazine you read with advertisements for new shiny cars, a dream vacation to the beach and latest in diamond jewelry and watches. You can even find perfume ads that are created along the same elaborate lines of money and sex. Keep in mind that being aware of scents doesn't mean running out and purchasing all the new fragrances that come out. Many people are content with only having a couple of bottles of perfume and still find their lives to be enormously enriched by the pleasure of discovering aromas.

Many people say that they like perfume, but only a handful can actually say that they love it. Those that love perfume also love art and food more so than the average person. Perfume lovers enjoy the stories and the memories associated with certain fragrances and can envision themselves somewhere else. Perfume lovers also like to talk about their discoveries and how they have categorized them whether it is by their notes or quality.

Each person is different, and whether you like or love perfume is a personal preference. For some it may take some time to develop the love for perfume.
